Welcome to #mamamondays. Here I try to include anything that is making us happy – and hopefully you too – even though it’s a Monday. And, I have to say it really is making me try to make the most of this often ‘depressing’ day
It has been anything from what we’re doing or planning to what we’re eating, watching or reading. I’ve even included items I’m lusting after or buying and anything else that has been inspiring me to make Mondays – and the rest of the week if need be – just a little more bearable.
I really hope that #mamamondays is inspiring you to make the most of this fresh start we get every week…
MAKING
I’ve been a fan of Bloom & Wild since its launch. I mean how clever – flowers delivered through the post THAT fit through your letterbox? {You can read more in an archive review here}.
When they got in touch and asked if I wanted to experience the Fin – a Christmas Letterbox Wreath – I was curious how this might work through the same postal style. But, again Bloom & Wild show it can be done without losing any of its floral beauty.
By sending two semi-circle halves – the wreath is easily secured together with a wire and tubing connector. And with the addition of the bow the wreath makes decorating the front door, side board or wall easy as.
What makes this Bloom & Wild wreath special is it’s based on one of British illustrators’ Fin Fellowes whimsical floral illustrations – and 10% of each sale will be donated to St. Mary’s Hospital More Smiles Appeal – to aid their vision for a top-tier intensive care unit for children.
Now that makes really decking the halls worthwhile.
** the Fin by The Letterbox flower delivery company Bloom & Wild costs £30 with free next day delivery.
BAKING
I always thought once I had a child we would be baking up a storm in the kitchen, as I myself love a bit of baking. But, the reality is Miss Marnie loses interest before we have even finished weighting out the ingredients.
Meaning I have resorted to those *whispers* cake mixes. I have also felt like a bit of a ‘baking failure’ using them but that all changed since we’ve been using BKD London Baking Kits. I mean for a start look how stylish they are!
Seriously though it’s the natural flavouring, freeze-dried fruits, dehydrated citrus juices and ground spices that give these kits a ‘home baked’ taste that knocks other cake mixes out of the park.
We were lucky enough to attend the BKD book launch easier this year – and Adelle the founder is as lovely as she looks and so into making baking tasty, easy and most importantly fun. And, these kids baking kits are that and so much more.
New for Christmas is these perfect stocking filler sized Cracker Baking Kits (£8.99) we have been trying the Gingerbread Christmas Tree Biscuits – here’s how we got on….
WATCHING
You may have read my post here on how Miss M has been enjoying the Teletubbies. The fact that theses lovable ‘tubbies have captured a whole new generation proves how iconic they really are.
We turn in most mornings at 7am to catch an episode – but on the rare mornings we sleep in (you know to like 7.15am) we often miss it. This upsets Miss M greatly – so thankfully when this new DVD Teletubbies: Tubby Snowball landed on our doormat it couldn’t have come at a better time.
Featuring 6 brand-new episodes including Snowball – a festive inspired episode that sees it being a a cold day in Teletubbyland. As the snow falls we see Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po find big snowballs, dance with a snowman and watch children make a caterpillar out of snow.
There is also a special featurette of the them singing “We Wish You A Merry Christmas’ – which I have to say has been on repeat ever since!! If you’re little ones are as obsessed as Miss M then enter my little giveaway below to win one of three copies.
