Welcome to #mamamondays. Here I try to include anything that is making us happy – and hopefully you too – even though it’s a Monday. And, I have to say it really making me try to make the most of this often ‘depressing’ day
It has been anything from what we’re doing or planning to what we’re eating, watching or reading. I’ve even included items I’m lusting after or buying and anything else that has been inspiring me to make Mondays – and the rest of the week if need be – just a little more bearable.
I really hope that #mamamondays is inspiring you to make the most of this fresh start we get every week…
This weekend we headed to one of our favourite places for an easy family dinner – Pizza Express.
The fact we have one at the end of our road makes this an easy option. But, really its that we can pop in for early bird tea around 5-ish and I can pretty much guarantee that Miss Marnie will eat her 3-course Piccolo menu without any fuss (the colouring menu and stickers are a big help here too…)
We haven’t actually been in yet this year – being good and all at for January. So, when the lovely people at Pizza Express asked if we’d like to try the new seasonal menu – well it wasn’t hard to work out what to say was it?
The new seasonal menu includes Pennette Formaggi – or macaroni cheese to you and me. This is possibly my favourite meal EVER – so I couldn’t wait to try that (and it didn’t disappoint – well only for the fact I choose in the starter size and not a main meal size). I am very, very fussy about my mac n’ cheese so was pretty pleased it passed the test.
This was followed with the new Calzone Diavolo – the classic spicy pizza given the folded treatment – Mr VIB had this and although enjoyed it – although I believe it didn’t quite hit the spot like the classic pizza style (he’s not keen on too much cheese so it may have been too gooey for him.)
We finished we the new Treacle Tart Cheesecake – this clotted cream and sticky treacle layer dessert was divine – and even if you shared it (as we did) you still felt like you were having a massive treat. It was sweet, comforting and a great twist on a pudding classic.
I suggest you get to your nearest Pizza Express before the menu changes….
Over the last few months I have been lucky to try out a few products from Green People.
Green People the natural and organic beauty care range that may pass you by. The minimal packaging, the lack of ‘in your face’ advertising and celebrity endorsement’s may factor in that.
But, really that’s even more reasons to love it. It’s true to its history, brand and above all the products deliver. Something I have been discovering myself aswell…..
One of my fave products is the Fruit Scrub – in fact I haven’t found anything that comes close to how this makes my skin look and feel (and I am very fussy with my skin care products.)
This month I have been trying the Age Defy+ Tinted DD Moisturiser with SPF 15 – this DD (daily Defence) gives great coverage, brightens skins and lasts the day. Totally blendable too – which is a big plus as I prefer to apply my base with my fingers and then buff out with a brush.
A definite keeper in my day to day make-up bag.
Just before the weekend kicked in I had a lovely surprise parcel from Netflix.
A gift box with some treats to have a cozy night in and catch up on our favourite shows. One of the treats was a giant fluffy blanket that Netflix had asked us #streamteam net-flixers to grab our family members and see how many people we could get under it.
Well, here was our offering for the #netflixnightin…
I will be talking about what we’ve been watching on Netflix and what to look out for soon.
Watch this space.
