Welcome to #mamamondays. Here I try to include anything that is making us happy – and hopefully you too – even though it’s a Monday. And, I have to say it really making me try to make the most of this often ‘depressing’ day
It has been anything from what we’re doing or planning to what we’re eating, watching or reading. I’ve even included items I’m lusting after or buying and anything else that has been inspiring me to make Mondays – and the rest of the week if need be – just a little more bearable.
I really hope that #mamamondays is inspiring you to make the most of this fresh start we get every week…
The weekend saw us all attending Bubble London.
Bubble is a bi-annual kids trade show. A place where some of the biggest childrens wear brands, newly launched and up-and-coming labels can showcase its next seasons collections.
For me as a stylist (rather than a buyer there to fill a shop or online store with the best pieces) this is a chance to meet the people behind the brands, see the clothes and accessories up-close and of course generate ideas for my work and blogging life.
My last few visits I’ve taken Miss Marnie (and a very understanding husband) along. This may seem mad to take a toddler but really she seems to enjoy the attention and this year there was so many things for kids to do – so, why not?
Miss M – although reluctant in the picts below – did enjoy the #mybabahut. This was in conjunction with blogger Leonora from mybaba – where she got kids entertainers Sharky & George in to, well entertain the little one – with a ‘stand in a bubble’ game. While she did this I learnt about her new children’s multivitamin with Zita West. Which I have to confess tasted good and even Miss M liked it.

Being able to work with and around my family is one of the reasons I can still work. Plus having Mr VIB in tow meant I could concentrate on a few of the seminars. I attended one in the morning about Instagram Mums and another after lunch with some famous mums (Caprice, Pearl Lowe and Jasmine Guinness) chatting Mothers mean Business.
All interesting stuff and definitely worth a trip to the Business Design Centre in Islington for this 2-day show.
Bubble pops back on 19th and 20th June 2016
Yes. I was sucked into the Marie Kondo Tidying Book craze – and actually read it all in one evening.
Yes. It all makes complete sense – but to do it I would need to clear my schedule for about 2 weeks to even make a dent in the clutter in our house.
Anyway, in a bid to start somewhere I spent my Christmas money on some Stackers. Now if you haven’t heard or seen Stackers they are brilliant jewellery trays that enable you to design your own jewellery box to suit your collection.
You start with a lidded box in the size you want and then underneath add as many trays as you need. The trays come in regular and deep depths and come with different inserts to store rings, watches, necklaces etc.
I went for a cream leather with a mocha polka dot lining and started with 4 trays – but already I need a few more as I didn’t quite realise how much jewellery I had as it was in lots of different parts of my room.
Now all neatly stacked together I can find pairs or earrings or untangled necklaces with ease.
I TOTALLY recommend and have my eyes on the junior collection for Miss M’s growing collection of jewellery.

Just before the end of 2015 I applied to become a Butlin’s Ambassador – and am so, so pleased to say I was selected as one of 30 bloggers to work closely with them this year.
What this means is as a group of bloggers we will get to experience the Butlin’s holiday and report back – honestly – on the accommodation, food, entertainment, spa – everything and help to change any misconceptions about this classic ‘holiday camp’ getaway.
This will definitely be an experience for me – I went to Butlin’s several times as a child and once again as a teenager but never, ever thought I would go back as a adult!
