Welcome to #mamamondays. Here I try to include anything that is making us happy – and hopefully you too – even though it’s a Monday. And, I have to say it really making me try to make the most of this often ‘depressing’ day
It has been anything from what we’re doing or planning to what we’re eating, watching or reading. I’ve even included items I’m lusting after or buying and anything else that has been inspiring me to make Mondays – and the rest of the week if need be – just a little more bearable.
I really hope that #mamamondays is inspiring you to make the most of this fresh start we get every week…
BUYING
Seems everyone around me is having babies at the moment! So I’m always on the lookout for cute baby gifts – but they have to be useful too.
Step forward Joules baby. They have given the baby section a little refresh and it now has a lovely selection of gifts, soft toys and blankets.
I especially like these gift box sets including a baby grow, body suit, hat and bib and these blankets (see below, now in the sale) but its these Cheeky Baby Blankets I love the best.
These clever little cover ups attach to a buggy or car seat – meaning it can’t be kicked off or worse slip off and dropped. The double side blanket is supersoft cotton jersey on one side and fleece on the back.
What’s more the genius hand and foot pouches they keep little ones tucked up and warm too – and the hand muff has some hidden sensory ribbons attached to keep little hands inside and entertained!
When you’re buying a gift for someone you can afford to go a little more luxe – like these blankets not cheap at £49.95 – they will be loved and more importantly used.
I know where I will be stocking up.
SHOCKED
Just before the weekend came I had an email from a colleague saying I had been nominated for a Jasmine Award…
The Jasmine Awards are recognised as the most prestigious journalistic awards in the beauty industry – and awards writers and stylists for translating the world of perfumery in words and visuals via magazines, websites and blogs.
I say shocked because for one I do not consider myself in any way a beauty or a fragrance writer and two because the feature was for a freelance piece I did for a brand magazine.
Either way I feel honoured to be nominated and know when the awards breakfast happens in March I will be extremely nervous to be up against some of the biggest and best beauty journalists in the UK.
The feature I wrote was for Scents magazine – the in-store magazine of The Perfume Shop – about his and her fragrances for Valentine’s Day.

REDESIGNING
If you’re a regular reader (yes, mum that’s you) that you may have noticed a few changes at mamasVIB HQ.
I have been wanting to give my blog a little re-fresh for a while now. But, kept putting it off.
I’m not sure why. Indecision’s, deadlines and having the time I guess – but I finally sat down and did it.

I am still doing a little fiddling behind the scenes with a few bits – so please bear with me if it plays up over the next few weeks.
