Continuing my regular post which will include anything that is making us happy – and hopefully you – even though it’s Monday. And, the start of a new month too. Is it just me is is there something quite gratifying and ‘neat’ about the first of the month falling on a Monday?
Anyway, this post will be anything from what we’re doing or planning to what we’re eating, watching or reading. Items I’m lusting after or buying to anything else that inspires to make Mondays – and the rest of the week if need be – just a little more bearable.
Step forward #mamamondays
WATCHING
Last week we went to an local production of Alice in Wonderland – or, more accurately ‘Alice’s Mad Tea Party.’ Set in one of our local museum gardens. It really was lovely have an evening picnic outside and watch the show
Miss Marnie seems to love the ‘mad’ capers and was giggling away – I on the other hand had no clue what was going on… Either way I loved being able to support a local event and theatre company. The Savvy Theatre Company are know for create ensemble casts no matter age, ability/disability, advantage or disadvantage.
But, back to Alice. In case you didn’t know the classic novel by Lewis Carroll is celebrating it’s 150th anniversary this year. This means there is lots of events happening all year long, various re-issues of the story with new book covers and much more.
I quite love the thought of doing an Alice in Wonderland birthday party for Miss M this year too – I have a few ideas pinned on Pinterest (of course) and they’re amazing!
But, for now here’s a few of our fave Alice finds:
Purse, Truffle Shuffle
T-shirt, Eleven Paris at Alex & Alexa
Dribble Bandanna, Dribblebuster
Poster Print, Graham & Brown
Vans Skater Shoes, Liberty
Book, Vivienne Westwood –
( A special cover to celebrate the anniversary and a forward by the Dame of fashion too)
Coaster, Amara
Memory Game, Mon Petit Art at Smallable
SHOPPING
If your looking for a shopping event with a difference then I suggest you hop-skip it to KidsARCADE this weekend – we’re hoping to pop down!
Taking place at the stunning Great Barrington Village Hall in the heart of the Cotswold’s this Saturday. This debut pop-up event will have a country village fete feel but instead of homemade crafts and the like it will showcase independent and on-trend fashions, interiors and toys.
As well as vintage ice-creams sellers, play tippees and kids activities – there will be a cool Photo Booth stocked with props, agency model scouts, artisan food and drinks and much more.
KidsARCADE is founded by two super stylish ladies (and mums) Rachel (an ex-magazine editor) and Fran (kids stylist and events manager) who spotted a genuine gap for cool things for kids (and parents) who haven’t lost their sense of style just because they live in the countryside.
Maybe local resistant and stylish mum Kate Moss will stop by too?
