Continuing with my new regular post which will include anything that is making us happy – and hopefully you – even though it’s Monday. It will be anything from what we’re doing or planning to what we’re eating, watching or reading. Items I’m lusting after or buying to anything else that inspires to make Mondays – and the rest of the week if need be – just a little more bearable.
Step forward #mamamondays
LOVING
The beautiful tribute to mothers on the Dolce & Gabbana catwalk at Milan Fashion Week. The Italian fashion house closed their “Viva la mamma” show yesterday afternoon as a family affair.
As the final curtain opened it revealed 11 model mamas with their own babies and children – including D&G muse Bianca Balti who is 6 months pregnant with her second child – as they walked the catwalk to the sound of Mama by the Spice Girls.
Wearing a stunning collection of mama-and-me rose embellishments, signature black dresses or frocks covered with doodles and drawings from Dolce & Gabbana employees children (channelling Angelina Jolie’s wedding dress that featured doodles from her 6 children maybe?)
It’s not often you see the world of fashion celebrate fashion of all shapes and sizes – and by that I mean maternity fashion, toddlers and babies. So, hats of to D&G for showcasing the real beauty that is motherhood.

PLAYING
When we were at my mums last we had a little go through the attic. Well, actually not-so-little as my mum has kept EVERYTHING so it always takes ages!
This ‘hoarding’ has been equally a hindrance and a blessing.
A hindrance as it makes trying to find anything a nightmare and the fact that I may be following in her footsteps. I’ve started to do the same – keeping everything. I’m finding it just as difficult to let go of some of Miss Marnie’s baby clothes and toys. A spring clean is due – so you never know!
But, it has also been a blessing as it means some of the toys I had as a child are getting a new lease of life in Miss M’s hands.
So, far we’ve uncovered my Tree Tots Family Tree House, my Cabbage Patch Doll (who came with the birth name Kristina Karolina in 1985), a Pound Puppie and my pair of Chic-a-Boos.
DRINKING
Far too many Lattes… I think I have one (ok, sometimes 2!) daily and I really don’t need the calories. How do I stop?
Oh i loved my fisher price treehouse and spent hours playing with it, and I totally agree Bonita D&G are truly inspirational to celebrate mums in this way, and what a beautiful catwalk it made x
I know so inspiring – as D&G always is x Thanks for commenting hon x
