Forget any misconceptions about Eco clothing being hippyish – or worse ugly! With this fab new baby collection from Panda and the Sparrow.
I admit I never went down the Eco baby clothing line with Miss Marnie – but if this range had been around I think I would’ve been persuaded. Panda and the Sparrow have proved that bamboo clothing can be Eco friendly, cool and far from boring. The simple collection of baby grows, leggings, t-shirts, hats and blankets come in unisex shapes and colours including grey, coral, sapphire and jade and – must-have bold stripes.
Launched last year by two mums who have worked at fashion brands including Whistles, House of Fraser and Warehouse – after one of their sons developed Eczema and found bamboo clothing helped. Beside being great for skin allergies – as it’s hypoallergenic – bamboo clothing has a whole host of other benefits including being as soft as cashmere, thermo regulating, UV resistant, breathable and absorbent. Phew… who knew?
When Panda and the Sparrow sent us some pieces to try – the Bamboo Baby Grow (with front fastening down the front and leg for easy changing plus fold back hand and feet covers) and the genius Bamboo Body T-shirt (looks like a tee acts like a body – wear under clothes or with bottoms for the t-shirt/pants effect) – we couldn’t wait to check out these claims.
And, what can I say. Not only does it deliver on all these and more. It washes beautifully and always looks like new and the softness – well that was something I was really impressed with.
Panda and the Sparrow is also purse friendly – I was concerned that it might be pricey but was pleasantly surprised to learn everything was less than £20 or so. Available for newborns – 24mths (Luckily, Miss M is tiny and fitted into the 18-24mth pieces!) Miss Marnie always says they ‘are her favourite pyjamas’ when I pop them on – can’t get better than that now can you?
