Over the summer I worked on the Superdrug Christmas gift guide. Over the summer? Yes, that’s right. Christmas starts around May/June time for many brands – some even earlier!
This ensures those lovely gift guides you casually leaf through from September onwards are printed and ready for the festive shopping period. Honestly, I hadn’t stepped inside a Superdrug for a very long time – and now I know what I’ve been missing. The gift collections really are its calling card.
Superdrug stocks the most sought after designer perfumes, amazing own brand gifts sets starting from as little as £4 and fabulous exclusive collaborations with some top beauty bloggers and fashion brands.
One of the major exclusives I wasn’t allowed to mention outside the studio walls was the fabulous bathing collection by the uber-blogger Zoella. Not only did I see the collection in advance and then get invited to the launch party – I also styled an exclusive shoot for Superdrug’s in store magazine Dare.

I have to say I got a glimpse of what life is like for one of the big beauty bloggers – but, am pleased to report to Zoella’s millions of fans that she is really lovely and very humble! Not only that she is from the same town as me – we even went to the same school (obvs. she went years later than me!) Small world huh? Anyway, one of my favourite parts of working on the gift guide was styling the videos for the online gift guide.
Why? Well because not only did I get to set up a Christmas room set – I managed to get Miss M a little role in the kids video too.
So, on one hot day in July in a room full of festive decorations, stacks of presents and 8 little kids high on sugar we made this fab little video to showcase the magic of Christmas morning…

Ah Marnie looks gorgeous and a natural in front of the camera. Love your styling for Zoella's stuff too- it looks great. My sister is ten years younger than me and has bought some of the bits from her collection- I must admit I quite like the make up bag but I don't think I can get away with it. 😉 Lovely to spend some time with you on Saturday. xx
