We always read a book or 3 before bedtime so I love this Christmas book advent idea that I spotted on, yes .. you guessed it Pinterest (seriously what did we do before it?)

Basically, you wrap up 24 Christmas Themed Books and your child/children unwrap one each night to read before bed. A great way to build up the anticipation – don’t you think?

Now, before you panic that you need to buy 24 news books why not have a search around the home for any Christmas or winter themed books you already have and love? The excitement for the children is not knowing what one it will be.

I went through Miss Marnie’s Christmas books and discovered we had 15 already (did you not know I LOVE Christmas?) .. so only a few more to find.

I am a big believer in hunting through charity shops. I’ve found loads of books for Miss M in our local one. I always hunt out the classics, check the condition and stock up.

So, this year I will be wrapping them all up in paper left over from last year, stacking them in a basket with a cosy blanket and will let Miss M take her pick.

Why does it have to be just books? What about alternating them with Christmas movies (great for the weekends), crafts, games or even a letter to santa set?

Here’s a few ideas of what to wrap all for under £12 … and check out my Sunday Night book club  – where every Sunday until Christmas where I will be listing my favourite Christmas books.
