Inspired by London Fashion week and the three other fashion week capitals I’ve been speaking to some cool mamas who have revealed their favourite places and secret spots of interest for a fun and fashionable day out with the kids.
Some you may be lucky enough to have been to London or live near the big city, for others these may just be ideas to keep for future holidays and trips away. Either way you will be one step ahead of the fashion-crowd just knowing these hot addresses!

1) Horniman Museum, South East London
This is one of our regular places to visit. We love everything here, from the well thought out kids activity sessions, to the famous walrus exhibit and the cafe. Plus the farmer’s market on a sunny Saturday in the grounds cannot be beaten.

2) Brockwell Park, Herne Hill SE24
The play area is the most amazing place to while away an hour or two. There are loads of climbing areas, swings and slide which mean they are free to roam and use their imagination – plus they always make friends. And, the award-winning Lido cafe (a short walk over the hill) comes highly recommended, especially for brunch.

3) Franco Manca Pizzeria
We love these sourdough pizzas baked in a wood fired oven and the branch in Brixton Market is a great place for the kids to eat great food as well as see life go by. Just take an extra layer as it can be a bit chilly.

4) Leicester Square Theatre, Leicester Place, WC2
We’ve seen some great productions here including a brilliant one of Julia Donaldson’s Stick Man. Well worth a look to see what’s coming up. Stick Man is showing again from 8th Nov – 4th Jan 2015.

5) Borough Market, Southwark Street, SE1
We love getting the train to London Bridge and wandering around the food stalls in Borough Market -Kappacasein is a brilliant cheese toastie stall! It’s lovely to walk right along the Southbank to the London Eye on a lazy Sunday, watching the entertainers and visiting the pop-up food stalls along the way. Krug champagne have one at the moment near the National Theatre – not good for the kids, but GREAT for us!
