Years of working on magazines and creating images – be it fashion on models, reader makeovers or celebrity shoots – means I understand how an image can say more than words ever could.
So, it makes sense that out of all the social media I use my fave has to be Instagram. It’s quick, fun and best of all visual.
Sometimes I like a picture without ever reading the caption underneath – because the shot is so beautiful, clever or instantly sets the scene or tells a story.
Besides pictures of food, babies and cats – I love seeking out stylish women especially MUMS. Looking to see what other mums are wearing, buying or dreaming of can inspire me on even the worst of my ‘feeling frumpy or fat-days’.
So, I thought I would share my 10 fave women – who I think are the most stylish #vibmamas on Intsagram.
Take a look, be inspired and get stalking I mean following.
Five of my #vibmamas on Instagram (and in no particular order)…
Joy Cho / Oh Joy! designer, blogger, food enthusiast, and mama to ruby | email: email@example.com http://www.ohjoy.blogs.com
I’m a massive fan of Joy (and was lucky enough to meet her at Blogtacular – a blogging conference earlier this year). She mixes fab prints in sunny colours (that suit her LA lifestyle), rocks cools dresses and skirts (even now with her second pregnancy) and does a good flat shoe.
Blissfully happy (mostly) yummy mummy, aspiring author and blogger extraordinaire. Never knowingly without an iPhone in my hand. http://www.mostlyyummymummy.com
I’d say Sarah was more than mostly yummy. The impossibly young looking mama of 4 (including 2 teenagers!) always catches my eye on Instagram. Be it her #shoeselfies or stylish angles she is always fashionable – yet, makes it look so wearable and real. I love her What I Wore Wednesdays posts too.
ellestrauss Fashion Director, Shopbop.com http://www.thewallgroup.com
An English girl in New York. Elle was previously Fashion Editor at Lucky magazine – and is now the Fashion director at Shopbop (a fab magazine-meets-online shopping boutique) so it would be fair to say she has a lot of fashion goodies within reach. But, I love that whether she is in fashionista work mode, looking girlie on nights out or cool and causal with her sweet daughter she manages to work that NYC polish.
Helen Canning Creator of CocoMamaStyle.com style blog. Mummy to Coco Lily and Mimi Rose. I like high heels, a Breton tee and bubbly. http://www.cocomamastyle.com
I love Helen’s fashion blog – she has a great eye and uses her expert fashion knowledge to help mums who may have got into a ‘style rut’ after pregnancy/birth. I’ve yet to see one un-glamourous pict on her feed – she sure makes me want to smarten up my act! Lots of her picts also involve sunny destinations…(not jealous at all!)
Courtney Adamo Mama of four: 2 boys and 2 girls. A country mouse living city life in London. Co-founder of Babyccino Kids. http://babyccinokids.com
This is one of my favourite feeds on Intsagram – I have even got my best friend hooked! Courtney is part of a trio of mamas behind the shopping portal/blog BabyccinoKids – and shares almost every aspect of her life from her 4 (super cute kids), her lust-worthy house and even what’s for dinner. But, its her fashion sense that I love – easy, simple and effortless this is one mama who hasn’t let 4 kids cramp her style.
(*Courtney recently had her feed shut down due to a picture being deemed inappropriate – but her army of over 45,000 followers helped get it reactivated with the hash tag #bringbackcourtneybabyccino. The power of social media right there. Read more about what happened here and here.)
DISCLAIMER: All picts are owned by the Instagram account as linked – and I thank each and every one of these mamas for the permission to use their fabulous picts for this post.
