Happy World Book Day! The day of stressed mamas doing last minute book character costumes (luckily Miss Marnie is too young for this yet!), the £1 book token and a day to enjoy READING.
World Book Day is the biggest celebration of books and reading and is when every child in full-time education gets a book token to spend in any bookshop all by themselves. Last year 1.2 million tokens were redeemed – and it’s hoping to beat that this year! So, please be sure to spend your token by 30th March.
Here’s the World Book Days £1 suggestions for 2014:

If you haven’t already noticed I love books (Sunday Night Bookclub, Bookclub specials…) and I’m really proud to say so does Miss Marnie. She will often come up to me with a book in her hand wanting to point out the pictures and hear my story voice…
Current faves are Collette the Cow, Goodnight Moon (especially as the last book of the night – yes, we read it every night!) and her constant favourite is still What a Busy Baby (which was one of the free books in her BookStart pack that the midwife gave us at her 8 month review.)
It’s really is never to early to start enjoying books with your kids and it can forge a love affair with reading that will last a lifetime!
Here’s hoping anyway – as these are my bookshelves in the front room. That of course will one day all be Miss Marnie’s – and they don’t include my separate shelves in the hallway for my cookbooks!
Yes, as I said I LOVE books.
From Vogue to Jackie Collins! I love a coffee table fashion book – much to Mr VIB’s dismay… |
Yes, I colour co-ordinate my books! |
Aaron's favourite book is 'The Tiger Who Came To Tea' by Judith Kerr. Its lovely to be reading books that I enjoyed as a toddler! A close runner up is 'Where's Spot', by Eric Hill, as he loves to join in making animal sounds and shouting 'no!' nice and loudly.
