As any time-pushed mum will tell you beauty takes a bit of a back seat when you have a baby (and a toddler for that matter!)
But, if you’re not willing to give up your usual routine – you have to find a way to do in in half the time (ok, make that 3 seconds flat).
I’ve streamlined my make-up bag, I now use more multitasking products and even tend to wear less make-up than before. This is my current mum-day routine:
Garnier All-In-One BB Cream £8 – I’ve mastered the art of applying this without a mirror and have had to recently confess my ‘flawless’ skin secret to my NCT mamas! It’s the perfect light base when you need to rub in and go.
Garnier BB Eye Cream Roll-On £9 – see above. Just to double up on the sleep deprived eye-bags.
Rimmel London Hide The Blemish Concealer £3.99 – A classic. I’ve always had one of these lurking in a make-up bag since I was a teenager – and gives some much needed coverage when required (which is often!)
Smashbox O-Glow Intuitive Cheek Colour £22 – Working with your own natural body heat this gives you exactly the right amount of flush – the silky texture is easy to blend and I have also used it as a lip stain.
No 7 Intense Volume Mascara in Navy £9.95 – Had me at intense. For when I need wide awake eyes in a jiffy. Navy is also less harsh than black and is said to make the eyes appear whiter and brighter (hey, every little helps!)
Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm £17 – With no need for lipliner or precision for that matter, this pencil sized lippy is ideal for quick touch-ups on the move. I have several different colours (Chunky Cherry and Two Ton Tomato are current faves) so, there is always one lurking in a coat pocket, baby bag…in Miss Marnie’s toy shape-sorting bus!
