V. I. BUYS: Babington House 15 ways to create the look at home {Staycation Style #1}

What is it about luxury hotels that can
instantly ease away those everyday stresses?

Is it the elegant décor, plush bedding and soft lighting? Or, is it the coffee tray, room service and luxury bathrooms?

Or, is it just the fact that you can escape
your day-to-day routine, eat and drink at all hours and indulge in some quality ‘me or couple’ time?

In fact for me it’s all of these things and
more

But, of late my weekend getaways and romantic trips have been distinctly
lacking since I became a mum.

It’s not only been because of motherhood though. Time
and money have played a part too.

For one our holiday time is precious – over
our years together the husband and I have had a far few hotels stays – but now our
free time is centred around family holidays.

And, as for money – even though before I
would have thought nothing of spending a few hundred pounds on a boutique hotel  – I think its much better spent on a week in a holiday lodge or a trip on the
Eurostar.

But, is doesn’t by any means – mean I don’t miss those luxury overnight stays. In fact writing this has made me realise just how
much I do miss them (insert sad face).

So, until I can book a mini-break I’ve
decided over the next few weeks I will be sharing some
interior finds, recipes, holiday fashion and shopping ideas in the spirit of some of my favourite places.

Babington House

This Georgian country house and members club in the heart of
Somerset features a chapel, spa, cinema and cricket pitch. One of the best hip-rural retreats where the rooms offer a country feel but with modern touches
like mezzanine floors, freestanding baths and lounge areas.

The vast gardens are hinted at inside with floral touches, bold
wallpapers and velvet furnishings in browns, greens and dusty lavenders.
Finished off with cosy log-fires, sleek treat trays and moody lighting.

Oh they are all lovely choices. I miss going away to spa weekends too. I just love the feeling you get from staying in a luxury hotel. Great idea to bring the hotel to you though, I will have to try this too 🙂 #HomeEtc

I'm with Stephanie, I think we need to go to Babington House to check it out 🙂 In the meantime I need to see those Jane Packer flowers in Sainsburys – they look so good #HomeEtc
