Continuing with my new regular post which will include anything that is making us happy – and hopefully you – even though it’s Monday. It will be anything from what we’re doing or planning to what we’re eating, watching or reading. Items I’m lusting after or buying to anything else that inspires to make Mondays – and the rest of the week if need be – just a little more bearable.
Step forward #mamamondays
…a kite that is! Over the weekend we’re were invited by Muddy Puddles and Adventure Walks & Books to learn how to make our own kites and then fly them over Hampstead Heath, London.
Having never ever ‘flown a kite’ (I know!) I was as excited as Miss Marnie to give it a go – and it was a real joy to see her having so much fun in such a simple way – without the need for electronics/toys/TV etc. It also meant we all got a good dose of fresh air and naturally stopped for a lovely lunch afterwards.
The event was part of a monthly series of outdoor family adventures that Muddy Puddles have organised from March to October. The events are all free – you just need to sign up to attend (but be quick, spaces go fast!)
Miss M looked the part in her Fisherman’s jacket and of course, was sporting her MP umbrella print wellingtons. Since discovering Muddy Puddles – I don’t really look anyway else for waterproofs or outdoor clothing – they have it covered (and the prices are great too!)
Easter is only a few weeks away so Miss M and I will be hitting the craft box to knock up some Easter cards and decorations (and adding in a few I brought in the M&S sale too).
Last year I made her this bonnet and I was pretty proud of it (even if we didn’t win the softplay competition!) – and to be honest its been hanging on the back of her bedroom door ever since so it stills looks pretty good. So, it may be just a quick update and job done. Waste not, want not and all that.
Last week we unearthed the magic that is Disney.
With a mini-holiday to Disneyland Paris. It was the most exhausting mini-break we’ve ever had – but also one of the very BEST!
Seeing it all through Miss M eyes was really the biggest magic of all – cheesy I know, but it’s the Disney effect. I will be sharing more on this soon – and also sharing some tips I picked up along the way.
