If there is one item no mama should be without in her make-up bag – it’s a RED lipstick. Classic, iconic and chic.
But, more importantly nothing wakes up your face no matter how sleep deprived you are, makes you look pulled together on the school/nursery run and adds some instant much-needed glamour.
Who said a lipstick can’t change a women life?…As my all time favourite star Elizabeth Taylor once stated:
“Put on some lipstick and pull yourself together!”
On that note I have asked 10 of my favourite mummy bloggers – and lipstick lovers to reveal their go-to REDS! And, I’ve spoken to Malin Coleman – a celebrity make-up artist who paints the lips of Amy Adams, Mollie King and Rachel Stevens no less… and found out her top-tips on how to apply like a pro!

“My go-to red for everyday is Revlon Colorburst in 240 Striking Spectaculaire – technically it’s a lip crayon rather than a lipstick. But, that gives it extra staying power.”

“MAC Lady Danger is my new fave. I had coveted MAC Ruby Woo for ages but when I brought it, it was too bluey for me. Lady Danger is more orange toned and suits my skin better.”
Natalie from stylemesunday
“It has to be MAC Lady Danger – it’s a flattering bright orangey red. It lasts a long time and is not as harsh as many blue-reds.”

“Bobbi Brown’s creamy matte lipsticks are long-lasting without being drying. They do a fab red called Red Carpet – it has blue undertones, making it more suitable for pale skin and brown eyes – and therefore me!
|Bobbi Brown Red Carpet £19.50|

“I have so many red lipsticks. But, my two faves are MAC Lady Danger and Rouge Dior in Rouge Cannage – a real classic and plus red lipsticks always remind me of my mum who advises lipstick is your ‘armour’.”

“I love Sephora Ultra Vinyl Lip Pencil in Fancy Red – but it’s really hard to come by. So, I tend to flip between MAC Russian Red – a cult classic and a cheaper version from Boots – 17 Lasting Fix in Hot Chilli”
Katy from modernmummy
“Chanel Rouge Allure in Coromandel is my red. Timeless and suits me whether my skin tone is fair in winter or tanned in summer. Chanel do the best reds – better than any brand.”
|Chanel Coromandel from £23.50|

“MAC Ruby Woo is my classic go to red. It’s extra matt and extra red – and really lasts all day or night!”
